Coffee, which Kelly Rowland stated is the beginning of a new era for her was written by Syd, of The Internet fame and was produced by Kosine of the Da Internz.
The song which has this feeling of effortlessness was something that Kelly Rowland worked hard to accomplish, admitting that it took her nearly ten attempts to get the song just right.
Kelly Rowland, who is now an independent artist has much to celebrate with the release of the music video, which has caused quite the stir on the internet. The video for Coffee was directed by Steven GoMillion and filmed in Miami in 2019. The video is a celebration on the beauty of black women and matches the effortlessness of the song. It’s (the video) just a perfect blend of beauty and excellence in all that black women represent.
The Coffee campaign appears to be well supported by Kelly Rowland’s team and Roc Nation and has featured a massive internet rollout with Coffee being added to many streaming platform playlists as well as having a massive Spotify digital banner in the middle of Times Square in New York City.
Kelly Rowland has taken the reigns of her career into her own hands and has bet on herself to achieve the vision on how she wants to show up musically for her fans and so far, the response has been more than positive. In less than 24 hours after its release Coffee is the #1 music video on Apple Music and the single sits at #2 on Apple Music’s top R&B songs chart.
Getting to this moment has been a journey for Kelly Rowland and her fans, however the singer has given indication that this moment is only going to get more exciting as she prepared to release her fifth studio album which she is ecstatic about. Although there is no release date for the as to be titled album, Kelly Rowland cannot wait for the world to hear what she has been working on, and by the looks of it they can’t wait either.
